Stream Tracer™ Technology

Stream Tracerr™ is an innovative energy saving technology developed by SST Group specifically to save costs for wax deposit control during oil extraction and to increase production volume.
Stream Tracer™ technology minimizes cost of chemical or mechanical treatment against heavy oil deposits.
Stream Tracer™ technology is based on controlled maintaining of fluid temperature in a tubing string above the point when waxes, resins and asphaltenes, diluted in oil, start to produce solid deposits on the inner surface of oil field equipment.

There are continuous heat losses when the fluid is flowing upwards in a tubing string and the losses are growing from well bottom to head. Stream Tracer™ technology precludes temperature drop due to adaptive fluid flow heating at the pipe zones where it's necessary.
Stream Tracer™ technology allows to extract the fluid via production string
1
without using expensive and costly chemical solvents and inhibitors
2
avoiding frequent production shutdowns to perform mechanical cleaning
3
avoiding excessive overheating of submersible pumps resulting from hot oiling, hot water or steam flushing
In order to introduce Stream Tracer™ technology at oil and gas extraction wells a line of unique innovative well electrical heating systems was developed Stream Tracer™ IT and Stream Tracer™ OT. They provide a reliable protection against waxes and gas hydrates for every method of hydrocarbons extraction: natural rise or artificial lift by gas lift or different types of pumping systems.

Stream Tracer™ technology is developed with the consideration of operating conditions on oil and gas production sites in compliance with the highest international standards of reliability and explosion proof.
Our well electrical heating systems are turn-key solutions, ready for installation, that can be installed at your well in a matter of days. The key components of the Stream Tracer™ technology systems are innovative heater, power supply and control system together with a set of accessories.

Ready to install solution
SST Group owns complete set of technologies and equipment for effective utilization of our solutions at oil and gas fields. The experience of successful introductions has enabled SST Group's specialists to work out unique technical solutions and equipment for realization of the projects of any complexity and early as possible. It takes less than 4 weeks on average to deliver the ready-to-install system to our customers from the time of order placement.

The heater installation method is based on the best well logging practice and the installation cycle takes not more than 8 hours and does not need long-lasting shutting down the hydrocarbon production. To minimize a well downtime the heater running into the well is performed without removal of the tubing string and downhole pumps. The use of proprietary pulling-and-running equipment ensure quality and speed of works at any weather conditions.
If you are interested in our downhole wax prevention technology Stream Tracer™ IT (inside tubing) or Stream Tracer™ OT (outside tubing), please fill in the questionnaire below so that we can design the best solution tailored to your needs.
Innovative heater for uninterrupted production rate
Stream Tracer IT technology uses innovative heater with a variable along-the-length heating power. The use of variable heating power provides minimum energy consumption during oil extraction avoiding wax deposits formation in a tubing string.
Up to 50%
energy saving
Stream Tracer technology delivers up to 50% improvement in energy consumption, compared to conventional downhole heating systems based at series-resistance heating cables

The heater is made as an extreme line type and has a common metallopolymer impermeable coating all along. The absence of splices not only provides the highest degree of reliability and explosion proof under operation of the heaters in explosive environment but also make it possible to install the heater in a plug and play way in a matter of hours.
Perfectly customized
to your specific requirements
SST Group engineers use unique and sophisticated software to select optimal downhole heater configuration for your application using fluid, well, geological, reservoir and other information.
To improve energy efficiency of the system the heater design optimization can be made in terms of length, number of heat emitting zones and linear power of each zone according to a project requirements and specific well data. The prevention of wax deposits formation leads to lower energy consumption and reduce specific costs for extracting of every barrel of oil.

Stream Tracer™ IT heater, being placed inside the tubing, is immersed in fluid or gas flow thus providing maximum efficiency of heat transfer. That's why the fluid temperature rise is visually detected already in some hours after the heating system turning on.

Up to 60 % of total heat is generated by the external conductor of Stream Tracer™ IT heater
Adjustable power supply to minimize energy consumption of Stream Tracer™

We apply customized power transformers with an option of the heater input power adjustment that enables to maintain minimum energy consumption and adjust the heat release according to changing conditions of the well.
Stream Tracer™ Control and Supply Station —
auto-adjusting heating to maximize the production potential of your well
To keep the wells operating without wax deposits and to reach maximum energy efficiency we developed efficient control system for our well heating units providing minimal cost for fighting with wax deposits upon stable oil extraction.

Due to its integration with pumping equipment control system Stream Tracer™ CSS provides automatic heating on and off when starting or shutting down the pump that ensures reliable protection of oil extraction regardless of engineering features of the pumps.

Stream Tracer™ CSS supports most of the protocols of data exchange with upper level dispatch control systems which enables to obtain on-line data on the status of your well protection against wax and gas hydrates regardless of how far your well is located.

"If You Can't Measure It, You Can't Manage It"
more data for optimum well protection
365 days of data: Stream Tracer™ CSS gives you access to one whole year of runtime and operation history, so you can easily monitor and analyze trends and make adjustments to maximize your well protection.

Up to 500 000 events in memory: you can view the last 500 000 controller events, including startups, shutdowns, alarms, setting changing. In addition, each historical event gives you access to more than 40 parameters of Stream Tracer™ IT system condition at that specific time.

It is possible to download all the historical data onto a USB flash drive and view it from any device.
Easy control at your fingertips
Stream Tracer CSS is extremely flexible and easy to operate due to a user-friendly control panel with a color 10" touchscreen. Your heating system can be up and running simply with minimal time and effort. Just hook up the three input wires from the power supply and the output wires to the junction box, connect sensors, and you're ready to go. Then, just make few steps to configure the controller based on your unique well conditions and production goals.
Interactive monitoring configuration screens make it easy to tune your Stream Tracer™ CSS and make adjustments to optimize performance.

Safe & reliable operations in extreme climatic conditions
The cabinets of our power supply and control system were designed to protect highly precise electronic components from severe operating conditions at any spot of the planet from the Equator to Arctic Circle. Optionally the power supply and control station can be fabricated as an explosion-proof version.
